Background checks are supposed to report criminal convictions dating back for seven years, although some employers may find it necessary to conduct a more in-depth review of an individual's background.
Access to criminal history summary records maintained by the DOJ is restricted by law to legitimate law enforcement purposes and authorized applicant agencies. However, individuals have the right to request a copy of their own criminal history record from the Department to review for accuracy and completeness. Requests from third parties are not authorized and will not be processed.

Unfortunately, fingerprints may be rejected for reasons beyond our control. The most common reasons are the applicant's fingerprints have characteristics that are difficult to capture in the live scan process. This would include cracks due from the weather, or working with our hands a lot, genetic lines that are found throughout the fingerprints.
If your application was rejected on this basis, we will re-roll your fingerprints for free electronically. Please bring in your rejection letter and a new live scan form so we can re-do your prints. If there are any requesting agency fees to resubmit your application, we will cover the fees.
Each client is responsible for knowing what type of fingerprint submission they require. This information can be verified with the requesting agency prior to Ports Mobile Service performing fingerprint services or providing products of any kind.
